The bilevel optimization society (BOS) is a technical section of the Mathematical Optimization Society (MOS).
The goal of the BOS is to create and maintain a community of researchers that recognize their work as related to bilevel optimization, while at the same time expanding its basis and promoting its outreach within and outside academia. This is achieved through the organization of (i) the International Conference on Bilevel Optimization (ICBO) series and (ii) the dissemination and promotion of research and information related to bilevel optimization.
Bilevel optimization is a field of mathematical optimization that focuses on problems incorporating other optimization problems as constraints. It has been successfully applied to model hierarchical decision-making processes across various domains, including economics, security, transportation, power systems, machine learning, pricing, and many more.
The ICBO is a bi-annual conference on bilevel optimization with the goal to highlight recent advances and trends in the field. The conferences will usually consist of a set of invited plenary speakers as well as of sessions of contributed talks. Its aim is to bring together junior and senior researchers in the field of bilevel optimization as well as practitioners using bilevel optimization.
